How to Install LED Strip Lights

LED strips run on safe 24V DC. The driver connects to 230V mains and must be wired by a qualified electrician.

1

Plan your run

Measure total strip length. Multiply W/m by length and add 20% headroom to find your driver size. Order everything before starting.

2

Cut to length

Cut only at designated cut marks. Sharp scissors, clean perpendicular cut.

Never cut between marks — this permanently breaks the circuit.
3

Prepare the profile

Cut profile to length. Feed the driver lead through the end before mounting.

4

Connect to the driver

Positive (red) to +V, negative to -V. Your electrician connects the driver to the 230V mains supply.

5

Mount the strip

Clean the surface thoroughly. Press the self-adhesive strip firmly into place. For profiles, slide the strip into the channel before mounting the profile.

6

Test before finishing

Power up and check the full length is lit evenly. Fix any connection issues before sealing profiles or finishing surfaces.

Always test before fitting diffusers and end caps — far easier to fix a connection before the profile is sealed.

What you'll need
