LED Strip IP Ratings Explained
IP ratings tell you how resistant a product is to water. For LED strips, getting the IP rating right is both a safety requirement and a warranty requirement — especially in bathrooms and outdoor installations.
The ratings explained
IP20
No water protection
Standard indoor, dry locations only.
IP44
Splash protected
Bathroom Zone 2 — around sinks and baths.
IP65
Water jet resistant
Bathroom Zone 1 (above bath/shower). Sheltered outdoor.
IP67
Waterproof
Temporary immersion. Outdoor exposed to rain. Bathroom Zone 0.
