How to Install an LED Profile

A step-by-step guide to cutting, mounting, and finishing an aluminium LED profile — for a clean, professional result every time.

1

Measure and cut

Measure and mark your profile to length. Cut squarely — a mitre saw gives the cleanest result; a hacksaw or pipe cutter will also work. Deburr cut ends with a file or fine sandpaper so the diffuser slides in cleanly.

2

Mount the profile

Recessed profiles require a routed channel cut into the surface. Surface profiles fix with mounting clips, screws, or adhesive. Ensure the profile is straight, level, and fully secure before fitting the strip.

For recessed profiles, route the channel before any other surface finishing work — far easier to fix routing errors at this stage.
3

Fit the LED strip

Run the strip inside the channel. The self-adhesive backing holds it in place — press firmly along the full length. Ensure the driver lead exits cleanly from one end before pressing the strip down fully.

4

Fit the diffuser

Slide the opal diffuser into the profile channel from one end. It should move smoothly without force. If it resists, check the cut ends are properly deburred.

5

Fit end caps

Press end caps firmly onto both ends of the profile. Use the open end cap at the connection end to allow the driver lead to exit cleanly.

6

Test

Connect to the CORE driver and test before any final finishing work. Check the full length is lit evenly and the diffuser is seated correctly with no gaps.

Always test before completing any surface finishing — far easier to re-seat a diffuser or fix a connection before the surrounding area is finished.
